The Pirates and the Duquesne Student Alumni Association co-hosted the event, which included player autographs and photos. The event was part of the Pirates CARE-a-van campaign, which supports communities through Pirates Charities.

Pitchers Nick Burdi and Geoff Hartlieb and infielder Will Craig attended the event, as students packed the second floor of the Union for autographs, photobooth pictures, games and free Chick-fil-A sandwiches.

“The Pirates reached out to us to host the event. They work with a number of charities and wanted to give back to the community,” said Torben Breitkopf, co-president of the Student Alumni Association.
