Philosophy Speaker Series Continues with ‘Evil in Africa’

The Philosophy Speaker Series continues with a presentation by a renowned scholar of African philosophy and religion.

Dr. Elias Bongmba, professor of religious studies and Harry and Hazel Chavanne Chair in Christian Theology at Rice University, will present Evil in Africa. He is best known for his book African Witchcraft and Otherness: A Philosophical and Theological Critique of Intersubjective Relations.

The presentation will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Gumberg Library’s Simon Silverman Phenomenology Center.

The event is co-sponsored by the Department of Philosophy and the Center for African Studies.
