Women in STEM Announces Travel Award Winners, Deadline for Next Round

Duquesne’s Women in STEM program announced the winners of its second round of travel awards. The awards program provides important opportunities for female students, postdoctoral fellows and early career faculty in STEM to present their research in regional, national and international forums and to network with scholars from around the world.

The second round awardees include:

  • Akshita Bhatt, graduate student in Pharmacology, $500 award
  • Aubrey Boucher, undergraduate student in Occupational Therapy, $500 award
  • Lindsay Carroll, graduate student in Rehabilitation Science, $480 award
  • Nina Dorfner, undergraduate student in Biomedical Engineering, $500 award
  • Erica Many, graduate student in Forensic Science and Law, $400 award.

The program plans to present additional travel awards during its third round. The deadline for submitting applications for the third and final round is April 1.

Research can be in any STEM area, including biology, biomedical engineering, information systems, chemistry, computer science, education, environmental science, forensic science, health sciences, mathematics, nursing, pharmaceutical science and physics.
