Gumberg Library to Host Virtual Open House

Join Duquesne librarians for a virtual open house to learn how Gumberg Library is supporting teaching and research during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This virtual open house will highlight Gumberg’s services designed to connect library users with online services, including live help through chat and phone, and increased database access.

The virtual open house takes place Thursday, April 23, from 1 to 1:30 p.m. on Zoom.

The open house agenda includes:

  • Opening remarks by University Librarian Dr. Sara Baron
  • Teaching and research support online with Instructional Design Librarian Melody Diehl Detar
  • An introduction to Adam Mathew Explorer, a newly accessible liberal arts database with Humanities Librarian Ted Bergfelt
  • Announcement of student worker scholarship recipient by Assistant University Librarian for Teaching, Research and Engagement Diana Sasso
  • Announcing the staff excellence awardee by Dr. Sara Baron.

The virtual open house also will feature a question-and-answer session.
