Health Sciences to Celebrate Graduates at Virtual Commencement

The Rangos School of Health Sciences will graduate 157 students at its virtual commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7. The degrees will be conferred by Provost Dr. David Dausey.

The summer graduates will receive bachelor’s and advanced degrees in health sciences, physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology. Students from the sixth accepted class of the Duquesne-China Health Institute, representing Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, are among the graduates.

“We are very proud of our graduates and their accomplishments during their time with us,” said Rangos School Dean Dr. Fevzi Akinci. “Their ability to adapt to a changing educational and emotional landscape while caring for themselves and their loved ones during a crisis of extraordinary proportions is a clear indicator of their strength and resilience.”

The ceremony will include welcoming remarks by Alex Brennsteiner, a member of the Rangos School of Health Sciences Advisory Council and the Duquesne University Alumni Board of Governors.

There also will be congratulatory remarks from:
