University Celebrates Teaching Excellence at Faculty Awards Ceremony
Newly endowed chairs, President’s Faculty Awards recipients and professors who have taught at Duquesne for 25 years were recognized at the annual Faculty Awards Ceremony on Sept. 17.
The following faculty were installed in endowed positions:
- Sister Rosemary Donley, School of Nursing, (renewed), Jacques Laval Endowed Chair in Justice for Vulnerable Populations in our School of Nursing
- Dr. Gretchen Givens Generett, School of Education, Noble J. Dick Endowed Chair in Community Outreach
- Dr. Patrick Juola, McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, Joseph A. Lauritis Endowed Chair in Teaching and Technology
- Bruce Ledewitz, School of Law, Adrian Van Kaam Endowed Chair in Scholarly Excellence
- Dr. Kathleen Sekula, School of Nursing, Noble J. Dick Endowed Chair in Academic Leadership
- Dr. James Weber, Palumbo-Donahue School of Business, Martin Hehir Endowed Chair in Scholarly Excellence.
The following were honored as recipients of the President’s Awards for Faculty Excellence:
- Frank Liu, School of Law, Excellence in Service to the Mission
- Dr. Jelena Janjic, School of Pharmacy, Excellence in Scholarship
- Dr. Sarah Woodley, Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, Excellence in Teaching.
