Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s Annual Turkey Drive Accepting Donations

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is hosting its 15th annual Turkey Drive, which provides Thanksgiving dinners to families in need.

Turkey dinnerODI is accepting monetary donations of any amount through Friday, Nov. 20. Contributions may be dropped off in Room 106 of the Union.

A donation of just $30 can help feed one family of four. To date, Duquesne’s annual Turkey Drive has provided more than 2,000 turkey dinners for local families in need. ODI met its goal of providing turkeys for 200 families last year, and it hopes to do the same in 2020.

“Year after year, we are grateful for the University community and the commitment to helping families in their time of need,” said Dr. Anthony Kane, the director of diversity and inclusion. “This year has been extremely difficult for many, as the pandemic has created financial hardships that will perhaps be felt most deeply during the holiday season. It’s more important than ever for us to come together and assist our neighbors during these challenging times.”
