New November Professional Trainings Now Available
Duquesne employees are encouraged to register for two new virtual, instructor-led and four new on-demand Training Pathways to Professional Success courses throughout November.
Registration is required for all courses. For more details or to register, sign into Dori then go to the Pathways Learning and Professional Development web page and search the course catalog under MyLead.
The two new instructor-led Pathways trainings will be conducted online and include the following:
- Pathway to Emotional Intelligence for Workplace Success (red only) workshop will be held Thursday, Nov, 12, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., during which participants will:
- Learn the four competencies of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and their value personally and professionally
- Recognize the power of emotion and its impact on potential
- Discover a framework to develop EI competencies to make more informed choices
- Identify strategies to enhance EI in various situations and develop potential
- Create an action plan to sustain EI throughout their daily lives.
- Leading Virtual Teams (blue only) workshop will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., during which participants will:
- Understand ways to successfully engage and empower a remote team
- Enhance and build trust among remote team members
- Communicate more effectively in a virtual team environment.
The four new LinkedIn online on-demand courses are for employees to learn at their own pace and include:
- What’s Next? Inventing Work in the New Normal (blue only)
- Time Management Working from Home (red only)
- Leading Effective and Engaging Zoom Calls (combined)
- Skills for Inclusive Conversations (combined).
Along with the newest courses, the virtual training lineup this fall also includes:
- Wednesday, Nov. 4, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Pathway to Effective Interpersonal Communication & Listening (red only)
- Thursday, Nov. 5, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Maximizing Team Performance, Virtually (blue only)
- Monday, Nov. 9, 9:30 to 11 a.m., FMLA, Management of Short & Long-Term Disability, Workers Compensation & Staff Absenteeism (blue only)
- Tuesday, Nov. 10, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Leadership Essentials, Influence, Impact and Inspire Others (blue only)
- Thursday, Nov. 11, 9 to noon, Microsoft Excel 2019 Intermediate: Using Formulas, Functions and Charts (combined; $50 fee applies)
- Thursday, Nov. 12, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Pathway to Emotional Intelligence: A Necessary Component to Workplace Success (red only)
- Tuesday, Nov. 17, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Leading Virtual Teams (blue only).
Employees can customize their path and take only the classes they need or they can set a path to complete all trainings. As a reminder, the Blue Pathway (blue only) is for supervisors and managers, and Red Pathway (red only) is for administrative support staff and non-managers. Combined trainings also are indicated.
