Faculty, Staff Invited to Celebrate at Founders Week Events

The Division of Mission and Identity (DMI) calls upon the campus community to come Together in the Spirit to celebrate Founders Week Monday, Feb. 1 through Friday, Feb. 5 with virtual and in-person, socially distanced events.

Equity and opportunity begin at home. Founded to advocate and advance opportunity for immigrants, Duquesne’s annual Founders Week celebrates the University’s more than 140 years of standing up for the health and economic well-being of all people within our local and global communities.

“This year, Founders Week calls us to be Together in the Spirit, to be present, to listen to one another and to open our hearts to the Holy Spirit so that we may be connected to the Divine presence each day,” said Luci-Jo DiMaggio, director of mission animation in DMI.

Events for the week will include an in-person Light in the Darkness Candlemas and Moveable Founders Week Feast, as well as virtual events such as the traditional Founders Week luncheon and Friday Vespers.

Registration for events is requested on the Founder’s Week homepage.
