Duquesne Celebrates Sixth Annual Day of Giving Feb. 10

Duquesne’s mission of serving God by serving students is even more important in these challenging times. Since its inception, the Duquesne Day of Giving has raised more than $1.3 million to benefit students.

Day of Giving 02.10.21The University community is invited to continue this tradition by participating in the one-day virtual fundraising campaign on Wednesday, Feb. 10. Funds raised will support scholarships, academics, athletics and other programs so students can expand their horizons and access opportunities in the classroom and beyond.

Duquesne alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends can visit the Day of Giving website on Feb. 10 to make an online donation. This year, donors have the opportunity to support the Student Success Fund, which provides financial assistance to students in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A $25,000 matching gift has been issued for the Student Success Fund, so gifts to this fund will be doubled on Feb. 10. Additional challenges are listed on the Day of Giving website. Donors also can designate a gift to the school, organization or sports team of their choice.

“For those in a position to do so, the sixth annual Duquesne Day of Giving provides the opportunity to support our students when they need it most,” said David Jakielo, assistant director of annual giving. “This year we have the tremendous opportunity to unlock a $25,000 matching gift for our Student Success Fund and address students’ needs during this very difficult time.”
