What have Dr. Catherine Johnson and Christine D’Antonio been up to?

Dr. Catherine Johnson, clinical associate professor in the School of Nursing, recently received a 2021 Cameos of Caring award in the nursing educator category. Established in 1999 by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, the Cameos of Caring award recognizes the work nurses perform at multiple levels of practice, including education, hospitals and more. Awardees are nominated by their colleagues. Johnson, who received the award on March 6, was acknowledged for her ability to walk alongside students as they begin their nursing careers.

Christine D’Antonio, instructor and clinical immersion director of the School of Nursing’s BSN Clinical Immersion program, has been accepted to the 2021 National League for Nursing (NLN) LEAD program. LEAD, a component of the NLN Leadership Institute, is a yearlong program that assists nursing educators and practitioners who have recently been challenged with rapid transition into leadership positions. Cohorts in the program examine organizational systems and leadership processes, strategic planning, budgeting and more.
