Florida Aquarium Expert to Discuss Ocean Conservation

Duquesne faculty, staff and students can attend a free virtual discussion about the meaning and importance of ocean conservation.

ocean conservation times FEATUREPresented by the Center for Environmental Research and Education (CERE) Wednesday, April 14, at 4 p.m. via Zoom, the event will feature Jenny Lee from the Florida Aquarium’s Center for Conservation.

The Florida Aquarium is dedicated to using a science-based approach to address key conservation issues. Its mission is to entertain, educate and inspire stewardship of the natural environment.

Gabriella Zuccolotto, a student in the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, organized the event.

“I’m dedicated to bridging the gap between scientific research and education using effective communication and outreach,” she said.

CERE includes undergraduate and graduate students and faculty working in environmental sciences programs at Duquesne. Its research is conducted to help better understand key environmental issues such as biodiversity and habitat enhancement, among other topics.
