What have Drs. Philip Reeder and Anna Floerke Scheid been up to?

Dr. Philip Reeder, dean and professor in the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, participated in a research panel discussion titled Tales from the Lagoon: Finding the lost Shtetl of Rumshishok on April 11.

The panelists discussed the documentary about the sunken Lithuanian village of Rumshishok. Hosted by the Vilna Shul, Boston’s Center for Jewish Culture, the event provided horizon-expanding education and discussion through research and collaboration.

Dr. Anna Floerke Scheid, associate professor of theology, participated in Racial Equity and Religions, a March 18 virtual panel hosted by the Consortium for Christian-Muslim Dialogue and the Duquesne University Interfaith Student Organization. Scheid discussed the history of Christianity in America and the civil rights movement, acknowledging Christianity’s continuation of racial justice. The panel emphasized the need for learning together and ongoing dialogue.
