EMG Brings New Event Opportunities with DUQ Days

Duquesne’s Enrollment Management Group (EMG), after a consultation with nationally renowned visit consultants RNL+Render, is making ongoing updates to continue to improve the visitor experience and events designed for prospective students and families. There will now be multiple DUQ Day events throughout the year, with two larger, marquis events planned.

“It was a great way to bring in a broad group for an open-house style event,” said Joel Bauman, senior vice president for enrollment management. “And our new format, based on research and benchmarking, allows our guests to see the places and spaces that they can’t see on a regular tour. We also know they want to engage with students, and these events allow for that with panels and student ambassadors.”

EMG’s Anthony Cappa, who has overseen the planning and format change, said that both internal and external feedback has been positive.  “We heard from many prospective students and families that the June event was a top experience for them,” he said.

“With visit experience as the number one indicator of likelihood to enroll, faculty and staff that support these events make Duquesne shine and stand out,” added Bauman.

Nearly 1,500 attendees—including 500 prospective students—are registered for the next DUQ Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25. Duquesne faculty and staff who aren’t scheduled to participate and want to experience the event are invited to stop by the upcoming DUQ Day. There is a reception and student panel at 1 p.m. in the Power Center Ballroom.
