Employees Must Record Vaccination Status, Clinics Slated

As part of ongoing efforts to keep the University community safe during the pandemic, Duquesne is strongly encouraging all employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

As an incentive, Duquesne will provide an additional paid personal day to full-time, non-unionized employees who provide proof of vaccination by Wednesday, Aug. 25. This deadline has been moved up so that the University can begin surveillance testing.

Any employee who has not uploaded proof of vaccination will be required to participate in surveillance testing.

Eligible employees who provide proof of their vaccination by Thursday, Sept. 30, can still receive the additional paid personal day. This personal day must be used by Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Vaccinated employees are required to upload proof of vaccination to the University’s private patient portal:

Unvaccinated employees can get a COVID-19 vaccine on campus:

  • Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are available.
  • Walk-in clinics will be held in the Spiritan Campus Ministry Lounge (second floor, Towers) on:
    • Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • Thursday, Aug. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Vaccines also are available Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Center for Pharmacy Care in room 215A of the Union. Call 412.396.2155 or email the Center for Pharmacy Care to make an appointment
  • Vaccines are available to anyone (students, employees, family members and the general public).

In addition, vaccinated employees who are immunocompromised can receive an additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the above clinics and the Center for Pharmacy Care. For further information regarding eligibility for an additional dose, please review the newest CDC guidance or contact the Center for Pharmacy Care.

Employees that do not file their vaccination card will be assumed to be unvaccinated. All unvaccinated employees will be required to wear a mask while on campus and participate in weekly COVID testing. Failure to participate in weekly COVID testing may result in suspension of campus swipe access and parking permits. Additional details regarding testing appointments and scheduling will be sent out to all non-vaccinated individuals via the SONA system.

University employees who are not currently active (i.e., adjunct faculty) will not have access to the private patient portal until their first pay period. The deadline for these individuals to submit their vaccination card is Wednesday, Sept. 15.

Contact the Center for Pharmacy Care at 412.396.2155 or email cpc@duq.edu with questions regarding the vaccinations available on campus, confidential web portal and uploading proof of vaccination. Questions about the additional personal day may be directed to hrservices@duq.edu.

The University continues to monitor CDC, state and Allegheny County Health Department guidance as preventive and safety measures are taken to protect all in the Duquesne community.
