Improve Mental Wellness, Compete for ‘U Prize 2.0’
Faculty and students who have ideas for ways to improve mental wellness in the Pittsburgh higher-education community are invited to compete in Unpack U’s 2021-2022 U Prize 2.0 competition.
Unpack U, a Pittsburgh-based organization, works to foster a physical and virtual campus environment that emphasizes well-being through community and a strategic network of partners. Its goals are similar Duquesne, which continues to be dedicated to building a better Pittsburgh and works along with local communities to address systemic challenges in health, education and more.
Online applications for U Prize 2.0 are being accepted through Friday, Sept. 17. Applicants across all levels and areas of academics are encouraged to apply with a host of ideas, ranging from an event that reaches millions to a technology solution that raises overall happiness. Projects must follow Allegheny County’s COVID-19 safety guidelines, if applicable. For any additional questions regarding U Prize, email info@unpacku.org.
The U Prize provides funding, support and mentorship to passionate leaders with bold ideas to make Pittsburgh and the world a happier place. Qualifying entrants will compete for a chance to win prizes ranging from $330 to $3,300.
U Prize categories include:
- Unpack U Prize
- Penguins U Prize
- Steelers U Prize
- Pirates U Prize.
“We believe this is an excellent opportunity to encourage students and faculty to get their creativity going, build their resume and spread mental wellness and positivity throughout our community,” said Maura Lonergan, program director of Citrone 33, a strategic collective that also is the thought leader behind Unpack U.
