Libermann Lenten Luncheons to Share Faculty and Students’ Acts of Mercy

The Libermann Lenten Luncheon series will continue to explore the corporal works of mercy theme by delving into its many possibilities and forms as demonstrated by members of the campus community.

Dr. Norman Conti, associate professor of sociology and leader of Pittsburgh’s Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, will be the featured speaker at the Wednesday, March 2, luncheon. He will share personal reflections of mercy as viewed from his experiences with the imprisoned.

Duquesne senior Panisara “Min” Pummalee, a business administration major in the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business, will discuss her involvement with the University’s Circle K chapter and its work on behalf of the FeelGood youth movement at the luncheon scheduled for Tuesday, March 8. The FeelGood movement works with students to set up grilled cheese delis at their schools for $1 or $2 donations in an effort to raise funds and build public support for a global initiative to end extreme hunger and poverty by 2030.

Hosted by Spiritan Campus Ministry for faculty and staff, the luncheons are held at noon in the Africa Room of the Union.

To RSVP, call 412.396.6020 or email Mary Beth Calorie in the Office of Spiritan Campus Ministry.
