Next Virtual Concert from the School of Music to Feature Duquesne Choirs

The Mary Pappert School of Music’s A Little Friday Night Music virtual concert series continues Friday, April 17, with performances by each of the University’s three choirs.

Little Friday Night MusicPerformances by the Voices of Spirit, Pappert Chorale and University Singers will premiere at 7:30 p.m. on the School of Music’s YouTube channel.

This week’s repertoire will include the following previously recorded concerts:

  • Chantez from Chansons des Bois d’Amaranthe by Jules Massenet
    Featuring the Voices of Spirit, conductor Dr. Caron Daley and pianist Gabe D’Abruzzo. Recorded live Feb. 21, 2016, at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church
  • Choral Fantasy Op. 80 by Ludwig van Beethoven
    Featuring the Voices of Spirit and Pappert Chorale, the Arsenal Duo (pianist Nathan Carterette and organist Edward Alan Moore) and conductor Dr. Caron Daley. Recorded live Jan. 29, 2017, at East Liberty Presbyterian Church
  • Verleih uns Frieden by Felix Mendelssohn
    Featuring the Voices of Spirit and University Singers, conductor Dr. Caron Daley and pianist Gabe D’Abruzzo. Recorded live April 29, 2017, at the Duquesne University Chapel of the Holy Spirit.

A Little Friday Night Music is a play on Mozart’s renowned Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music). Each Friday through May, the Mary Pappert School of Music will release a previously recorded concert on its YouTube channel that features student or faculty ensembles.
