Register Now for Virtual Event on ‘Politics, Contentious Elections and Civil Discourse’

Registration is open for Politics, Contentious Elections and Civil Discourse, a free and timely event that will be held virtually via Zoom from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Politics Contentious Elections and Civil Discourse

The event is part of the Duquesne University Civil Discourse series established by Duquesne President Ken Gormley. The series explores the importance of respectful discussion and debate, even on challenging topics.

Gormley will moderate the event and Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Bob Casey will give remarks via video presentation. Panelists include:

  • Conor Lamb of Pennsylvania’s 17thCongressional District
  • Tom Ridge, 43rdgovernor of Pennsylvania, first secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and now president and chief executive officer of Ridge Global
  • Houston, Texas, Mayor Sylvester Turner
  • Elizabeth Preate Havey, Esq. Partner, Dilworth Paxson, LLP; Chair, Montgomery County Republican Committee; Secretary, Republican Party of Pennsylvania.
