Honor Duquesne’s Catholic Spiritan Tradition During Heritage Week

Celebrate and learn more about the University’s Catholic Spiritan mission and history during Heritage Week 2021.

Photo of 3 female students with pumpkinsHosted by the Division of Mission and Identity, Heritage Week centers around Duquesne’s “birthday” on Oct. 1 and the Oct. 2 feast day of Spiritan Congregation founder Claude Poullart des Places. The annual event offers the opportunity for faculty, staff and students to learn together about Duquesne’s heritage through education, engaging and fun events.

While this year’s activities return to an all-in-person format, individuals are reminded they must wear masks at all events held in indoor locations.

Heritage Week 2021 events will be held Monday, Sept. 27, through Saturday, Oct. 2, at various campus locations. Most events require registration.

  • DU Tumbler Decorating
  • Heritage Week Lunch
  • Agape Latte speaker series, featuring Honors College Director Dr. Kathleen Roberts, who will present On Cancer, Cats and COVID
  • Succulent Pot Painting—Living the Mission by Caring for Creation
  • University Birthday Party
  • Feast Day Fall Festival
  • Outdoor Feast Day Mass.
