International Conference of Education in Ethics Underway on Campus

The formal opening of the first International Conference of Education in Ethics was held on May 1 in the Power Center.

The three-day conference began with opening remarks by President Charles J. Dougherty; Dafna Feinholz, representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization from Paris, France; Dr. James Swindal, dean of the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts; and Dr. Henk ten Have, conference coordinator, director of the Center for Healthcare Ethics and secretary of the international organization.

The conference, which runs through Thursday, May 3, is featuring presenters from 33 countries—Qatar, China, Israel, Japan, Norway, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Tunisia, the Dominican Republic and more—who are discussing ethics in their respective nations and professions.
