Crowdfunding Campaign Launched for Career Closet Initiative

The Career Closet initiative has launched its official Spirit crowdfunding campaign for faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni and friends of the University to support the professional development of Duquesne students.

Instituted for the 2017-2018 academic year, the Career Closet is located in the Spiritan Campus Ministry office in Towers. A collaboration among Career Services, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Spiritan Campus Ministry and the Faculty Senate, among other organizations, the Career Closet provides Duquesne students with free access to appropriate interview attire as they transition to the professional world.

Any Duquesne student can e-mail careercloset@duq.edu to schedule an appointment to meet with a campus consultant to discuss their needs and pick out a professional outfit or accessory. Initial donations to launch this effort were made by Duquesne University faculty and staff. A donation to the Career Closet can help Duquesne students feel confident to land their dream jobs and enter the workforce as proud Duquesne University alumni.

Donating is quick and easy. Visit www.spirit.duq.edu/careercloset17 to make a donation with a credit card using a secure online form. The campaign ends on Friday, October 13. In addition, the Career Closet is still accepting new and gently used business professional clothing. Donations can be dropped off at the Campus Ministry Office in Towers during regular business hours.
