High School Counselors Nationwide Choose Duquesne as Among Top 125 Universities

In the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings, high school guidance counselors nationwide have selected Duquesne as one of the top 125 undergraduate schools in the country.

The University tied with DePaul University as being among the top 15 Catholic schools chosen by the counselors.

In Spring 2011, U.S. News asked counselors from their 2010 Best High Schools rankings and those from the largest private, independent schools across the country, chosen from more than 2,100 schools, to name which national universities and national liberal arts colleges offer the best undergraduate education to students. They rated the universities on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the top.

Duquesne was rated at 3.5, No. 124, tied with 20 other institutions, such as the University of Arizona, University of Texas, New School, Yeshiva University and the Virginia Commonwealth University.

In addition, the latest U.S. News rankings put Duquesne in the top 100 of national universities for freshman retention, highest six-year graduate rates and the highest proportion of students under 20.

In the national rankings, Duquesne is listed among the top seven schools in Pennsylvania.
