New Safety Lights Added to Forbes Crosswalk

New safety lights to draw drivers’ attention to the pedestrian crosswalk at Forbes Avenue and Boyd Street are operational as of today.

With the push of a button, pedestrians are able to put the lights in motion and be more visible to motorists.

“This will greatly improve the safety of our students, faculty and staff going from the main part of campus across Forbes to Mendel Hall and to Libermann Hall,” said Lt. Mike Sippey of Duquesne’s Department of Public Safety. “Pedestrians have been experiencing a hard time crossing, especially at peak traffic hours. This will greatly improve the flow and safety when crossing Forbes.”
