Robert S. Barker, Duquesne University Distinguished Professor of Law, spoke on Latin American Constitutionalism: An Overview, at the symposium on Constitutionalism in Emerging and Dynamic Democracies in the Middle East and Latin America, on Feb. 16 at Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon.

Dr. George Yancy, associate professor of philosophy, presented at the One Mic, One Movement: Advances in Hip Hop Therapy and Hip Hop Psychology at Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus on Feb. 4. This research conference was the first to focus on the contemporary field of hip hop-based intervention studies. Yancy also delivered the lecture Whiteness, Racial Embodiment and the Challenges of ‘Diversity’ in Higher Education on Jan. 19 as part of the 2011-2012 Bastian Foundation Diversity Lecture Series hosted by Westminster College. The lecture focused on whiteness, racial embodiment and diversity as they play out in specific disciplines, the professorate and throughout academia.
