Law School Hosts 99th Annual Commencement Ceremony

Nearly 200 students received their juris doctor degrees at the School of Law’s 99th annual commencement ceremony on June 3.

The Honorable Thomas Buergenthal, a former judge of the International Court of Justice, delivered the keynote address. One of the leading international human rights experts, Buergenthal spent the first 11 years of his life in various German concentration camps and is one of the youngest survivors of the Auschwitz and Sachsenhausen camps. He is the Lobingier Professor of Comparative Law and Jurisprudence at George Washington University Law School.
