Turkey Drive Provides Thanksgiving Dinners for Families in Need

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA), in collaboration with the Department of History, is sponsoring the 7th annual Turkey Drive to provide local, disadvantaged families with dinner on Thanksgiving Day.

Members of the Duquesne community can sponsor a family for just $25, but donations of any size are greatly appreciated. A donation of just $5 helps to reach the goal to provide 300 turkeys to families in need throughout the Pittsburgh area.

Last year, the OMA Turkey Drive provided turkeys to more than 150 families in the Hill District, Manchester, Hazelwood and East Liberty communities.

There are numerous ways to make a donation:

  • Donate with cash or check, made payable to the Office of Multicultural Affairs, via mail or in person in Room 105 of the Union
  • Department budget transfers can be made to the Turkey Drive Fund
  • Giant Eagle gift cards are also accepted.

The deadline to contribute to the OMA Turkey Drive is Friday, Nov. 16. For more information, call the OMA at 412.396.1117.
