The Rev. Radu Bordeianu, assistant professor of theology and president of the Orthodox Theological Society of America, addressed the Society of St. John Chrysostom, Youngstown-Warren Chapter, in their program on Overlapping Jurisdictions: Promises and Pitfalls for Orthodox Catholic Unity at St. Mark Antiochian Orthodox Church on Nov. 12. Bordeianu explored jurisdictional situations within Orthodox and Catholic families.

Dr. Moni McIntyre, assistant professor of theology and pastor of the Church of the Holy Cross in Homewood, the only historical African American Episcopal church west of Philadelphia, is being awarded the 2012 Racial Justice Award in the category of faith from the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh. McIntyre was honored at the 21st Annual Racial Justice Awards on Nov. 14 at the Westin Hotel and Convention Center for her efforts to eliminate racism and promote equity.

Wes Oliver, associate professor of law, will have the next episode of his monthly series Crime & Punishment air on PCN (the Pennsylvania Cable Network) at 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25. During the episode, Oliver interviews an expert about the court case in which a Zumba fitness instructor is accused of using her dance studio as a brothel.
