New Pittsburgh Courier Honors Duquesne Members as Women of Excellence

The New Pittsburgh Courier recognized Marla Bradford, senior employment recruiter in the Office of Human Resource Management, and Dr. Erroline Williams, director of professional development and corporate outreach in the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement (SLPA), as Women of Excellence during a June 20 award ceremony.

The Women of Excellence award recipients are chosen for demonstrating excellence in positions not traditionally held by African-American women. Now in its sixth year, the award is presented annually to 50 African-American women in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

Marla Bradford

Bradford is responsible for driving diversity and inclusion recruitment strategies for the Division of Academic Affairs’ faculty, administrative and support staff. She also manages the Minority Professional Development and Support Staff Development Internship programs.

Bradford received a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Geneva College. Her community involvement, board affiliations and memberships include Vibrant Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Diversity Council, Pennsylvania Black Conference on Higher Education, Freedom Unlimited, Inc., The Black Political Empowerment Project, Pittsburgh National Black MBA Association, the Pittsburgh Human Resource Association of Human Resource Professionals and the Society of Human Resource Management.

Dr. Erroline Williams

Williams manages and designs the Power of Leadership Program for the University’s administrative professional staff and the Support Professional Development Program for administrative support staff. She oversees the Executive Certificate in Financial Planning (CFP) Program, the CFP Alumni Community and the CFP Advisory Board. Williams also developed SLPA’s popular Leadership Breakfast Series, which launched in 2011.

She received a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Pittsburgh, a master’s degree in leadership and liberal studies from SLPA and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was recently honored with a 2012 Pittsburgh Business Times’ Human Resources Leadership Award and was named among the 2011 Women of Integrity by the Pittsburgh Professional Women organization.
