Dr. Partha Basu, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, was invited to present Who Is in Charge: Ligand Controlled Chemistry in Metal Dithiolene at the 15th Asian Chemical Congress Aug. 19-23 in Singapore. In July, Basu also was invited to present New Insight to Structure-function of Oxo-Mo Centers from Guilty Dithiolene Ligands at an international conference in Sintra, Portugal.

Assistant Professor of Journalism and Multimedia Arts Charlie Gee’s documentary, The Race That Eats Its Young, will be featured in the Knoxville Film Festival this Friday, Sept. 20, in Knoxville, Tenn. The 36-minute film documents the participants in the 2009 Barkley Marathons, the infamous 100-mile race through the wilderness held annually in Frozen Head State Park near Wartburg, Tenn.
