Scheduled to open Thursday, Oct. 3, the Red Ring patio’s street-level seating area is located on the east side of the Power Center. The patio, which will provide seating for 46 at seven dining tables and nine cocktail tables, includes two entrances that also are wheelchair-accessible.

When completed, the area will be covered with a full-length cloth awning and use roll-down clear vinyl sides and radiant heaters for use during inclement weather. A steel railing on three sides and a 9-foot-wide buffer zone will divide the patio from the adjacent lot.

Chris Baierbach, director of Parkhurst Dining at Duquesne, said that he intends to book live music in the space. Facilities Management Director of Design and Construction Mark Minsoki added that the Red Ring patio will be available for receptions and private parties.

Minoski also pointed out that the patio’s amenities and location will help to make the Red Ring restaurant an attractive entertainment destination for fans attending the Pittsburgh Penguins’ home games as well as other sporting events or concerts at the Consol Energy Center and A.J. Palumbo Center.
