Campus-Wide Luncheon Recognizes United Way at Work, On Campus

As part of the University’s 2013 United Way Campaign, Executive Director of Facilities Management Rod Dobish will deliver the keynote address at the campus-wide luncheon.

Each year, the University hears from an agency that benefits from the United Way. Dobish will speak about the history of Duquesne’s involvement with the St. Anthony’s School Program and how it intersects with the University mission on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at noon in the Power Center Ballroom.

“All of us are fortunate to be members of the Duquesne community, but there are others in the community at large who are less fortunate,” Dobish explained. “Giving to the United Way helps those in the community with needs, and each of us participating in the campaign demonstrates our concern for the community and is a another example of fulfilling our mission”

Students in the St. Anthony School Programs, a Catholic-based inclusive educational environment for children ages 5-21 with autism, Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, participate in Duquesne’s post-secondary program, where they study for much of the day and also are integrated into regular classroom and school activities wherever possible.

The United Way luncheon will include silent auctions and raffles. Prizes include a Coach purse, an overnight stay in the Muldoon apartment, three hours of limo service, personal trainer sessions and more.

The luncheon is free, but employees are asked to RSVP by Monday, Oct. 28.
