Business Tech Conference Helps Companies Grow Through Technology
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will present the eighth annual Pennsylvania Business Technology Conference on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Power Center ballroom.
The aim of the conference is to help businesses increase their profitability and competiveness by equipping them with the information they need to make smart technology decisions. It also helps them to discover ways to utilize technology in order to enhance profitability, productivity and market adaptability.
“Small business owners use technology every day,” said Christine Hughes, training manager with the SBDC. “But are they using it effectively to create profits, increase sales and remain competitive? This conference updates them on today’s tools and strategies and offers them hands-on experience.”
This year’s conference will feature breakout-session workshops designed to provide information on utilizing the latest in technology, including:
- E-Commerce
- Social media
- Marketing with technology
- Software
- Search engine optimization.
In addition, the conference will include a Technology Showcase that will enable attendees to experience the latest business-building tools from leading technology and software providers.
David Bishop, a MAYA Fellow in Human Sciences and a senior designer and researcher, will be the luncheon speaker. In his presentation, The Future of Technology: Trillions of Devices all Talking to Each Other, Bishop will address technology trends for 2014 and beyond, including new products and gadgets, crowd sourcing and the latest competitive threats for small business owners.
The cost to attend the conference is $119, which includes breakfast, the luncheon presentation, breakout sessions and the Technology Showcase.
