Ring in the Christmas Season with Night of Lights ‘Silver Bells’

The Student Government Association invites the University community to kick off the Christmas season at the annual Night of Lights event, Silver Bells, on Thursday, Dec. 5.

All faculty, staff, students and their families are welcome to help light up the Christmas season at the event.

The Silver Bells celebration will feature:

  • Christmas carols, 4:30 p.m., Union Perron
  • Carriage rides, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Academic Walk
  • Santa’s workshop, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Africa Room, 3rd Floor Union, featuring craft booths, silent auction and pictures with Santa
  • Lighting of campus, approximately 5:15 p.m., Academic Walk
  • Christmas dinner, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Union Ballroom, cost is $9 per person.

New this year to the Night of Lights event is a performance by the Tamburitzans at 7 p.m. in the Power Center Ballroom.

Holiday performances also will be held throughout the evening by University student organizations. All donations collected during the event will benefit Autism Speaks.

The alumni-relations-sponsored Breakfast with Santa scheduled for Saturday Dec. 14, is sold out.
