National Safety Council Honors University with Hazard Recognition Award

The National Safety Council has selected Duquesne to receive its Gold level Hazard Recognition Award.

This new award honors companies that have a Hazard Recognition program in place that includes the following elements:

  • educates employees on recognizing current and potential hazards
  • maintains a system for employees to report hazards and a system to correct the hazards
  • maintains a system to acknowledge employee participation and engagement in the Hazard Recognition program.

The Gold level Hazard Recognition Award honors companies that have experienced a percentage increase in the number of hazards that are reported and corrected from the previous two years.

In the past, Duquesne has received the National Safety Council’s Occupational Excellence Achievement Award.
