Ergonomics and Stress Relief Focus of Two New Lunch and Learns

University employees can receive ergonomic tips and learn how to combat the winter blues at two upcoming Lunch-and-Learn events.

Many employees may not realize that a simple workspace adjustment can reduce the risk of a job-related discomfort or injury. Drs. Elizabeth Deluliis and Kimberley Szucs, assistant professors in the Department of Occupational Therapy, will introduce strategies designed to avoid repetitive injury movements on Friday, Feb. 21, at Workplace Ergonomics-Incorporating Wellness into Your Workspace.

Employees experiencing the fatigue of seasonal stress are invited to attend Stress Management Techniques to Beat the Winter BLUE Season! on Friday, Feb. 28. This program, presented by Human Resources Training Manager Joyce Valent, will explain how to minimize the negative impact of stress on one’s mental and physical well-being.

Both events will be held from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. in Room 608 of the Union. Employees can bring a bag lunch and are asked to register through Training Tracker.

Sponsored by Duquesne’s Wellness in Motion initiative, these programs are free and open to all employees.
