DU Community Lights the Way in Relay for Life

Duquesne will help fight the battle against cancer at the annual Relay for Life, starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and continuing through 2 a.m. on Sunday, April 13. Survivors, friends and family are encouraged to participate in the event on Academic Walk.

During the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, a Luminaria Ceremony symbolizing the hope and perseverance of a continued fight against cancer will commemorate survivors and loved ones lost. Participants and donors can order a luminaria bag in memory, honor or support of a loved one.

The luminaria will serve as reminders as relay participants continue to walk throughout the night. Each bag can be personalized with names, messages, photos or artwork.

To dedicate a luminaria or register contact Mimi Wolbert or call 412.396.5853.Colleges Against Cancer will have a pre-sale of luminaria bags in the Union Atrium in the days leading up to the event.
