Genesius Project Groundbreaking

Members of the campus community withstood spring snow on April 15 to witness the groundbreaking for the construction of The Genesius Project, Duquesne’s new multipurpose theater, which will be built on Seitz Street adjacent to the Mary Pappert School of Music.

The theater will serve a number of performance-related needs, including providing a state-of-the-art flexible space for School of Music ensembles, the Red Masquers and Spotlight Musical Theater, and for performance and production classes.

The theater, which is named for a third-century Roman actor and Christian martyr who became the patron saint of actors and other performers, is slated for fall 2015 completion.
