Libermann Luncheon Series Begins Sept. 17

The campus community will have the opportunity to hear reflections from a former deputy general secretary of the World Council of Churches at the semester’s first Libermann Luncheon.

Dr. Mercy Amba Ewudziwa Oduyoye will present A Church to Move the Humanization of Africa: A Personal Yearning, on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 11:30 a.m. in the Power Center Ballroom. She will share her thoughts on gender justice, interfaith relations and the hope for the unity of humankind in the Church of Ghana.

This luncheon is being held in conjunction with Celebrating the Power of Lumen Gentium, a three-day intercontinental symposium being held on campus from Tuesday, Sept. 16, to Thursday, Sept. 18.

Sponsored by Spiritan Campus Ministry, the Libermann Luncheon series is open to Duquesne faculty, staff, administrators and alumni. Additional Libermann Luncheons will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, Wednesday, Nov. 12, and Wednesday, Dec. 3, at noon in the Africa Room.
