Comedy ‘Don Camillo’ Featured Next in Italian Film Festival

The third movie in the Italian Classic Film Festival hosted on campus will be the 1952 comedy Don Camillo from director Julien Duvivier.

Don Camillo will be shown on Tuesday, Oct. 14, in Room 719 of Fisher Hall. In this film, the peace of a rural Italian village is disrupted by the hostility between a hot-headed Catholic parish priest and the newly elected Communist mayor. Humor and humanity flow as the explosive Don Camillo and the hard-headed Mayor Peppone clash over what’s best for the people.

The Italian Classic Film Festival is sponsored by the Honorary Consulate of Italy/Pittsburgh, in collaboration with the 40^th Western Pennsylvania Symposium on World Literatures and Duquesne’s Center for International Relations.
