Non-faculty Appraisal Program Form and Process Updated

For the first time in more than 10 years, the non-faculty Performance Appraisal Program has undergone a full evaluation and been updated. The result is a new form that is being implemented immediately for all upcoming appraisals.

The most significant change in the form and process is that both the manager and the employee complete the same single form.

“The biggest issue to come out of our conversations with the University community was that the old forms were very restrictive and cumbersome for both the manager and the employee,” said Ryan Dawson, associate director of human resources. “A single form will provide a more defined link for both staff members and supervisors of job duties, overall performance and overall operational goals.”

The new form and FAQ page about the Performance Appraisal Program can be found at duq.edu/appraisalprogram.

Because there have been a number of changes to the form and process, including a new performance-based rating system, the Office of Human Resource Management and the Division of Mission and Identity will conduct training sessions for managers and supervisors on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Thursday, Jan. 22, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Jan. 26, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 9 to 11 a.m.

All training sessions will be held in Room 608 of Libermann Hall. Advanced registration is required through MyLEAD.
