Event Tonight to Commemorate 15th Anniversary of Tragic Seton Hall Fire

The campus community is reminded that the University is hosting a presentation and screening of the documentary After the Fire: A True Story of Heroes and Cowards tonight, Jan. 17, at 8:30 p.m. in the Union Ballroom to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the fatal residence hall fire at Seton Hall University.

Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons

Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons—the two most critically burned survivors, who were freshman roommates at the time— will talk about their experience and present the screening of the critically acclaimed documentary.

The presentation and screening is free and open to the University community. Floor marshals for campus buildings are particularly encouraged to attend, said Paula Sweitzer, director of Environmental Health and Safety.

This event is sponsored by Duquesne’s Labor Management Safety Committee and the Office of Residence Life.  For more information, contact Nicholas DuBos at 412.396.5689 or dubos@duq.edu.
