Three Faculty Named Teacher of the Year by Students

Three Duquesne faculty members will be recognized for their leadership and excellence in the classroom at the 23rd annual Teacher of the Year Award ceremony on Monday, April 20, at 4 p.m. in the Africa Room.

Sponsored by Duquesne’s chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), a national leadership honor society, the awards are selected based on votes by University students.

The Teacher of the Year awardees for the 2014-2015 academic year are:

  • Dr. Ernie Dettore, visiting assistant professor and instructor of early level education courses, School of Education
  • Dr. Janie Harden Fritz, professor of communication and rhetorical studies, McAnulty College of Liberal Arts
  • Dr. Charles Welsh, assistant professor of biological sciences, Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences.
