Funds totaling $86,565 were recently received by the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, the Mylan School of Pharmacy, the Rangos School of Health Sciences and the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business.

  • Dr. Tomislav Pintauer, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry, $20,405, from the National Science Foundation for Organic Transformations via Activation of Monohalogenated Substrates in Copper Catalyzed Atom Transfer Radical Addition. The award period extends through June 30, 2017.This brings the total award to $410,405.
  • Dr. Aleem Gangjee, distinguished professor of medicinal chemistry, $5,583, from the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute for Purine Synthesis Inhibitors with Selective Folate Receptor Tumor Transport. Year 3 funding amounts to $558,208. The total award amount to date is $1.6 million.
  • Dr. Anne Burrows, professor of physical therapy, $10,577, on a subcontract with the University of Kentucky funded by the National Science Foundation for Collaborative Research: Skeletal Muscle Constraint on Relative Brain Size. The award will extend to Aug. 31, 2017.
  • Dr. James Weber, professor of business ethics and management, $50,000, from the A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust, for Constructing an Ethical Profile of Millennials.
