Those unable to attend the event on campus can view the seminar either in real time or on demand through distance learning on the Internet.

According to Ben Wecht, the institute’s program administrator, this seminar and others like it will allow more legal professionals to earn their ethics CLE credits faster and more conveniently than ever before.

“As a longtime provider of CLE programming, we are excited to now offer this short course designed specifically to provide Pennsylvania attorneys and those in reciprocating states the opportunity to meet their annual ethics requirement in a single lunchtime session,” Wecht said. “More than that, with our new distance-learning capabilities, we are pleased to be able to do so both in the traditional classroom setting and online. Finally, we are thrilled to announce that this and material like it will be offered on demand as well.”

The upcoming seminar, which will feature a round-table discussion, will examine the various ethical considerations that are required in working with such experts including the rules and case laws that govern communications between attorneys and expert witnesses.

Participants will include:

  • Steven Baicker-McKee, assistant professor of law at Duquesne University
  • David Rodes, a plaintiff’s attorney with Pittsburgh law firm Goldberg, Persky & White
