Parking Office and DU Card Center Merge to Improve Service, Consolidate Space

The Office of Parking and Traffic Management has merged with the DU Card Center to form the Office of Parking and DU Card Services.

This new office was created to improve the efficiency of staff and processes of what are two of the University’s most essential and often-utilized services, according to Scott Richards, executive director of auxiliary services.

Currently, the DU Card Center has been temporarily relocated to Room 607 in the Union until renovations to its space in room 210 of the Union are completed in April to accommodate the merger. Parking operations will then be relocated to that newly renovated space.

“This merger presents an opportunity to automate and streamline current operations,” said Richards. “The centrally located space on campus along with our training and technological improvements will offer a convenient one-stop shop for parking and card related services.”

By merging into a single office, the Office of Parking and DU Card Services plans to improve customer service. Staff are being cross-trained so that more individuals are available to assist customers. The office is also upgrading its web-based platform, Flex Port, to better handle online parking permit sales, waitlists, citation payments and appeals as well as to eliminate manual paper work processing. Permits obtained via applications completed in the Flex Port system will now be mailed directly to applicants, eliminating the need for in-person pick-ups.

All contact information for the Office of Parking and DU Card Services such as phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.
