Woodrow Wilson Fellow to Share Expertise on Tibet, China during Campus Visit

Filmmaker, journalist and professor Dr. Lee Feigon will be in residence at Duquesne from Monday, March 14, through Friday, March 18. He is the University’s first Woodrow Wilson Fellow from the Council of Independent Colleges.

Feigon, a research associate at the Center for East Asian Studies of the University of Chicago, will meet with faculty and students from a variety of department sand organizations.

In addition, Feigon will present China’s Environmental Problems and the Dangers They Pose to the World, at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at the PNC Recital Hall in the Mary Pappert School of Music. The lecture is open to the public.

“Hosting our first Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow is a real thrill, particularly since it’s Dr. Feigon,” said Honors College Director Dr. Kathleen Glenister Roberts. “Through our membership in the Council of Independent Colleges, we have a scholar here for an entire week whose fees for just one public lecture would normally be out of our reach. More than that, though, the visiting fellow bridges academic and nonacademic sectors.

“It’s a great opportunity for students and faculty to expand their awareness of environmental problems as well as novel solutions,” Roberts added.
