Red Masquers Present ‘The Consorts,’ Written by Duquesne Alumnus

The Red Masquers’ season continues with the production of The Consorts, written by Dr. Timothy Ruppert, former Duquesne professor and alumnus.

The show will be presented at the Genesius Theater from Thursday, April 7, through Sunday, April 10, and from Thursday, April 14, through Sunday, April 17. Show times are at 8 p.m., with Sunday performances at 2 p.m.

The Consorts takes place in 16th century England, featuring Archbishop Thomas Cranmer the evening before he faces a fiery execution. However, fate offers him an escape, and Cranmer must choose between life and death as well as the ghosts of Queens Anne Boleyn and Katherine of Aragon, both of whom want Cranmer’s soul.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Duquesne faculty, staff and students can attend for free but must present their University ID. General cost for the public is $16.50 for adults, $11.50 for seniors and $6.25 for students.
