College Choice Ranks DU Among 75 Best Catholic Colleges, Universities

Duquesne is among a select group of 75 academic institutions named to the College Choice 2016 list of Best Catholic Colleges and Universities. The University is ranked at No. 43.

“Catholic colleges and universities are not meant for Catholics alone. An education that focuses on the entire person is a valuable education whether you identify as religious or not,” said Katie Amondson, associate editor of the College Choice ranking. “Many of America’s top Catholic colleges and universities are recognized as premier academic institutions. In this ranking, you will find schools that range from small liberal arts colleges in rural towns to large, world-renowned research universities.”

The ranking considers various factors to ensure that students get “the best rate of return on (their) educational investment.” According to College Choice, the factors that they considered were based on criteria that college freshmen indicated as most important to them—college reputation, net cost, average financial aid packages and average starting graduate salary. Resources for the list included the National Center for Educational Statistics, U.S. News and World Report, and Payscale.com.
