Commencement 2016: Rightfully Proud Moments

Dr. Charles J. Dougherty delivered his last commencement address as Duquesne’s president on May 6 as nearly 1,580 students received degrees.

In the ceremony at the A.J. Palumbo Center, Dougherty, who will retire on June 30 after 15 years, was presented with an honorary doctor of humane letters, along with renowned author David McCullough. A Pittsburgh native and Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential biographer, McCullough has narrated many TV shows and films, including Seabiscuit and the PBS show American Experience.
